Shakespeare Festival im Globe Neuss 2009 presents: Shakespeare “As You Like It“ Video Award

Within th context of the Shakespeare Festival 2009 the "Globe Education" ,in cooperation with Toshiba, offers the possibility to tell your own individual version of a Shakespeare classic according to our theme "Shakespeare as you like it". Just shoot your own 5-minute-videoversion from "Othello", "As you like it" " or "Romeo and Julia". You could select a special scene or perform the whole play- in German or English.

What are the conditions?

  • This Video Award is organized only for school-classes and young people within NRW;
  • Participants´ age: between 13 and 21 years old;
  • Both school-classes, independent groups and individuals can take part in this project;

How can I participate?

  • Just send an e-mail to our staff. Then you'll get a participation form which you could fill in and send back. Our e-mail-address is: video-award@shakespeare-festival.de In this form you also have to indicate an “identification name“, which at the same time is the title for your YouTube video.
  • You could publish your video on YouTube on your own in the time frame from 31st March and until 15th June 2009. The title of the video has to correspond to the following structure and also has to contain the same “Identification-Name“which was indicated in the form:

SFVA_2009_Identification-Name

Then you just can wait while your video is evaluated by the audience through the ranking system.

  • The participants of the best three videos according to this ranking system will get a Camileo camera from Toshiba and they will be invited on the 19th June to the Shakespeare Festival Party, where a jury will then establish the winner of a prize consisting in 500 euro. In this evaluation it is paid special attention to three elements: originality, style and faithfulness to the original.

Indeed Shakespeare Festival im Globe Neuss 2009 presents this year a brand new project that will enlarge and complete the offers within “Globe Education“ through a Video Award entitled “Shakespeae As You Like It“ in which the different faces of Shakespearian love can be considered to be the main ingredient.

Shakespeare was actually an author of strong emotions and for this reason we propose a main topic for your Video Award which consists in a mixture of sweet, tasty and bitter flavours.
Are you ready for this explosive Shakespeare Love´s recipe?

Ingredients:-½ Teaspoon's Courage

  • 150 g Passion
  • 600 ml broken Heart's tears
  • 50 stolen Kisses
  • 300 gr Surprise
  • 35 x catty Winks

Preparation:
Bring a large pot of broken heart's tears to a boil; mix 50 stolen kisses, 35 x catty winks together with courage, passion and surprise that then will be added to the boiling tears. Cook and stir until heated through.
Sprinkle with a little bit passionate jealousy, ironic sensuality or tragic love before serving.
Has to be served boiling hot!
