Introduction 45 minutes before curtain-up
Jochen Schölch and the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding production of “Midsummer Night's Dream“ was the absolute cult performance in Munich last summer. A hugely enthusiastic audience cheered the young actors and loudly applauded their verve, the physicality of their stage presence and their mischievous but nevertheless affectionate interpretation of Shakespeare's timeless story of the trials and tribulations of love. Our good fortune, then, that the Bayerische Theaterakademie has found its way north to the Neuss Globe to open the 19th Shakespeare Festival with a double NRW premiere of “Midsummer Night's Dream“ and
“The Fairy Queen“. “Go and let yourself be enchanted“, wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung last summer. Let's follow their advice.
