Introduction 45 minutes before the performance

Seven Sonnets

At a reception, Fabian runs into his former friend from school, Mark. Their philosophies regarding love and life could hardly be any different: Fabian married early and lives a simple life with his wife and daughter in a house in the suburbs. Mark, on the other hand, constantly has a new affair. At the moment he is dating a considerably younger intern, Ariane. Even when they were in school, Mark could get any girl, even Fabian's current wife, Katharina, which Fabian just recently believes to have discovered. Something else connects these two men: their relationships are threatened to fall apart. In both cases the last word has not yet been spoken.
Based on William Shakespeare's seven sonnets and their erotic-cryptic content, John von Düffel spins an ever shrinking close-meshed web of romantic entanglements in seven scenes which connects its characters in, at times, tragic, at times, comical way.
