“Nothing will come of nothing!“ is King Lear's angry response to his favourite younger daughter's inability to find words of praise for him when he shares his kingdom amongst his three daughters. Cordelia is disinherited and so begins one of the most significant delving into the human soul ever.
The King's too early generosity is paid back gruesomely and he discovers too late the false values of his previous life and the suffering of others.
This new production by Bill Buckhurst for the London Globe is being shown for the first time in Germany exclusively here at the Globe Neuss.
Joseph Marcell, best known for his role as the butler in “the Prince of Bel Air,“ simply glows in the lead role.
