The aim of Tim Tonndorfs production of the “The Tragedy of Macbeth“ is not to show it as the tragedy of Scotland under terror but as the failure of the protagonists to put their dreams into focus. Without wanting to justify Macbeth's murderous nature, the four actors look again at the prehistoric desire which drives the Scottish generals during their lust for power. The main theme of the play “fair is foul and foul is fair“ asks the question another way: how do we know what is fair and what is foul?

Only after seeing behavior which is contradictory to common belief is the individual able to question the prevalent opinion of good and bad. And suddenly a “legitimate“ action is shown in another light...
A short and entertaining production, which is also very suited to school children.
