The second evening of the guest performance by the Fundación Siglo de Oro is dedicated to the drama “Punishment without Revenge“, a thrilling love triangle between the Duke of Ferrara, his young wife, and his stepson Federico. Italy seems to be, like for Shakespeare, Lope de Vegas' first choice of location, situating “El Perro“ in Naples.

Directed by Ernesto Arias, the actors of the “Foundation of the Golden Age“ also bring this text to life in Lope de Vegas' magnificent mother tongue, as well as in historical costumes. A German summary will be handed out to the audience but the supertitles, in addition to the scene summary, are in English.
