There is a long line of suitors awaiting lovely Padua on the marketplace of love. She, however, is not allowed to get married until her elder sister Katharina is betrothed. The latter resists her father's matchmaking attempts as well as any candidate that might come her way. Petruchio's timing is, therefore, perfect since their first encounter already reveals them to be on equal footing.
Director Holle Münster: “This love story is about two seekers who are rejected by their environment in two ways and who can direct that which they find against the rest of the world.“
The result is a quirky, against-the-grain production created by Schauspielhaus Graz in cooperation with the Drama Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG).
