A Shakespeare concert in a class of its own will be presented to the musically-inclined audience by the shooting star among the coveted countertenors, Valer Sabadus, with his interpretation of "English Songs". "To touch - to kiss - to die" describes the cycle of longing, love and death. Purcell, Dowland and many other composers of the 17th century illustrated the race of the desire to find love within the short span of life. In his moving programme, which is also available on CD, Valer Sabadus is accompanied, among others, by the harpsichordist Olga Watts and lutenist Axel Wolf, both of whom have already performed at Globe and have inspired the singing star to join the Shakespeare Festival. A highlight of this year's festival.
