Kelly Hunter and her Flute Theatre thrilled us in 2016 with her extraordinary Hamlet interpretation – now she has chosen Twelfth Night to follow. This is no accident: Shakespeare probably wrote his bottomlessly inexhaustible Twelfth Night immediately after the story of the Danish prince. So, the drowned Ophelia rises again at the beginning of Twelfth Night as Viola, when the sea washes her onto the beach of Illyria.Six actresses sing and play the pain and ecstasy of being in love (and being in love with oneself, as in the case of Malvolio) as if it were their own story, which is actually Shakespeare's. Authentic and modern, Kelly Hunter at her best.
