Description

"Shakespeare at the Opera" means: eight young singers from the Opera Studio, two ensemble members from the German Opera on the Rhein, under the musical direction of Ville Enckelmann, following Shakespeare's trail. Arias, scenes and ensembles from Berlioz's "Béatrice et Bénédict", Bellini’s "I Capuleti e i Montecchi", Gounod's "Roméo et Juliette", Verdi's "Falstaff", Nicolai's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and Cole Porter's "Kiss me, Kate!"for your discovery and delight.Moritz Führmann from the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus will build the bridge between text and music with the help of short readings from the Shakespeare plays. You are guaranteed a colourful evening full of treats.
