Leben des Eduards des Zweiten von England (canceled due to pandemic reasons)
Von Bertolt Brecht nach Christopher Marlowe, Neues Globe Theater Potsdam

Dates
- Tuesday, June 2, 2020, 20:00h –
Description
The historically documented, tragic story of a great love between two men, Edward II, King of England 1284–1327, and his French friend Piers Gaveston (1284–1312), was staged by Bertolt Brecht in 1924 at the Munich Kammerspiele and he created a completely new version together with Lion Feuchtwanger. Brecht's early work contains the later features of epic theatre with its distancing and alienation effects. The Neues Globe Theater from Potsdam brings Brecht’s version of Christopher Marlowe's exciting drama on stage for the first time at Globe Neuss. Definitely worth discovering.
