Shakespeare's contemporary John Ford presents the mythical topos of sibling love with sensual imagery and a clear view of love in times of the Renaissance. "Tis Pity She’s a Whore" is probably the most famous English incest drama. Around 1630 John Ford wrote about the morality of an oversaturated society and developed a plea for the diversity of love without being able to believe in it. The bloody termination of forbidden love inexorably approaches, and, in the end, six coffins must be ordered.
