From the world-famous film "Shakespeare in Love" (1998), Lee Hall made a version for the theatre in 2014 that has already been performed with much success on many stages. Shakespeare falls in love with a boy who auditions for the role of Romeo at his Globe on the Thames but who turns out to be a young woman: Viola, a young noblewoman who grovels at the dramatist’s feet. A love burns between them in secret and on the boards.
