Description
The stage is empty and there is no one sitting in the seats. All the same, the Neuss Globe is completely full. But with what? It is almost bursting with stories! The stories of people who have accompanied the Shakespeare Festival year after year. Regardless of whether they have done so as audience members, actors or organisers - they all have memories connected with this very special theater that go back to its construction in 1991. In the audio installation “glObe. Stories.”, the deserted theater becomes an acoustic archive. Inspired by the twelve-sided structure of the building, twelve people talk about their experiences. Sometimes the topic is the spectacular productions, sometimes the special environments that were especially memorable. These personal anecdotes surprise, touch, and entertain. At the same time, they stimulate the listener’s own imagination and make us very aware of what is missing at the moment. Connected to the hope for new stories, we listen to the past and, in doing so, pay tribute to the now 30-year history of this festival.
With Dr. Vanessa Schormann, Richard Lingscheidt, Dr. Ellen Cygan, Andreas Giesen, Jasmin Hopf, Peter Waros, Klaus Harnischmacher, Hergard Engert, Michael Kloss, Adelheid von Werden, Josia Krug & Anna Lisa Grebe.
