Macbeth - Online

  • Thursday, July 1, 2021, 15:00h – Macbeth
  • Thursday, July 1, 2021, 20:00h –

Welcome to our live stream of The HandleBards' Macbeth! This production was filmed on the 26th June 2021 at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, and is being made exclusively available to the Neuss Shakespeare Festival!

In addition, the Shakespeare Garden will of course offer the originally planned, complete supporting programme: the introduction by and with Vanessa Schormann as well as a show-talk between the two performances. Paul Moss, the producer and creative head of the troupe, will also take part in this audience talk.

Here is the schedule for Thursday 1 July 2021:

14:00 Introduction with Vanessa Schormann
15:00 "Macbeth" by the HandleBards

17:30 Start of audience discussion with Paul Moss and Vanessa Schormann - and everyone who watched or wants to watch in the evening.

19:00 Evening introduction with Vanessa Schormann
20:00 Evening performance of "Macbeth" with the HandleBards.

Note: The stream is only available to watch on this Thursday. However, the two "airings" are not exactly fixed at 15:00 and 20:00.

With the link and the password globeneuss you can already watch from 14.15 and 19.15 respectively. This means that you can start your "Macbeth" right after the introduction. In any case, the performance lasts one and a half hours. IMPORTANT: If you get an error message, please switch browsers ( ... with the Edge browser it is best to type in the link by hand).

The introductions and the show-talk are available as a Zoom Meeting. All you have to do is click on the link

and you are already part of the party.

At random, the meeting ID and/or the identification code are sometimes requested. In this case, please enter

Another hint: You can watch the stream with English subtitles or do without them - just "as you like it" (press CC in the video).

Three women play Macbeth and certainly not only the lady and the witches. What you can always expect from the HandleBards is a lot of fun. This popular piece about the rise and fall of a superstitious and fear-driven tyrant and his ambitious wife most certainly offers enough material for a turbulent staging by the HandleBards.

Kathryn Perkins (Red Bard: „Macbeth”, Ross etc.)
Natalie Simone (Yellow Bard: Lady „Macbeth”, Banquo, Malcolm etc.)
Jenny Smith (Blue Bard: Macduff, Duncan etc.)

Tika Mu'Tamir would have been the fourth in the line-up, but being half Malaysian, she was in Kuala Lumpur for the start of rehearsals and couldn't make it back to the UK!
