Description
By Tom Gerber based on motifs from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Taming of the Shrew”
The Shakespeare Garden opens with a wedding and the perfect material for a comedy: Shakespeare’s confusion of adolescent love from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Katarina’s elaborate marriage in “The Taming of the Shrew” are, with a dash of anarchy, married together into a whole, creating a thrilling sense of tension with regard to the current debates about gender equality. Between the forest and inn, some look for great love, others for big bucks, and everyone for the answer to the question of into which personal plight romantic love may lead them.
